!! Severe weather conditions...

What is a Code Purple Air Quality Alert?

Air pollution has reached very unhealthy levels. Everyone is at increased risk of health effects—not just those with asthma or lung disease. Smoke particles (PM2.5) are small enough to enter deep into the lungs and even the bloodstream.

>>What You SHOULD Do
*Stay indoors as much as possible.
*Run air conditioning on recirculate if possible.
*Use a HEPA air purifier if available.
*Limit or postpone strenuous outdoor activities.
*If you must be outside for an extended period, wear a well-fitting N95 or KN95 mask.
*Drink plenty of water.
*Check on elderly neighbors, children, and anyone with heart or lung disease.
*Watch for symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, headaches, or irritated eyes.

>>What You SHOULD NOT Do
*Don't exercise, run, or perform strenuous work outdoors.
*Don't burn leaves, trash, or use outdoor fire pits.
*Avoid using gas-powered lawn equipment if possible.
*Don't leave windows open to "air out" your home.
*Don't ignore symptoms like difficulty breathing or chest pain—seek medical care immediately if they become severe.

>>People Most at Risk
*Children
*Older adults
*Pregnant individuals
*People with asthma, COPD, or other lung diseases
*People with heart disease
