| Dear Ephrata Residents and Business Owners,
We invite you to join us for an important Town Hall Meeting hosted by The Ephrata Pioneer Fire Company. This event is an opportunity for us to connect with you, our community. We will also be sharing vital information about the services we provide, the challenges we face, and how we can work together to ensure a safer future for all of the Ephrata Community.
WHY THIS MEETING MATTERS? For years, our community engagement has remained at around 17%, and we believe it’s time to change that. We want to raise awareness about: •What we do and how we operate •The level of service we provide to the community •The financial and operational challenges we face •How your support directly impacts emergency response
We will also present a presentation that outlines our current situation, including: •Rising call volumes: from 300 calls a decade ago to 500+ calls this year •The increasing costs of tools, vehicles, and training •The potential impact of a municipal tax •Our status as one of the top responding units in Lancaster County—without paid staff
WHO SHOULD ATTEND? We encourage all members of our community to attend, especially: •Business owners in both the borough and township •Renters and property owners •Anyone who wants to understand how their fire company operates and how they can help
THE REALITY WE FACE Despite our efforts, attendance at open houses is down, donations are declining, and we’re asking the same dedicated volunteers to do more with less. We need your help to reverse this trend.
How You Can Help? •Attend the Town Hall and bring a neighbor or colleague •Spread the word - Details on social media and through your local channels •Register via the QR Code that is listed below •Support us by learning, engaging, and sharing your ideas Let’s come together to build a stronger, safer Ephrata. We look forward to seeing you on October 9th.
Sincerely, The Ephrata Pioneer Fire Company |
