| This morning marked the annual Firecracker Race through downtown Ephrata. This year, organizers switched things up, challenging participants with a 5-mile race instead of the traditional 5K.
Pioneer Fire Company was proud to be a part of the event! We had several members representing Station 15 on the course, while our Tower 15 crew set up a cooling shower near the finish line to help runners beat the heat.
In addition, 20 Fire Police officers worked throughout the morning to keep the course safe for the approximately 600 runners and countless spectators.
Congratulations to everyone who participated and crossed the finish line.
As the celebration continues, don't forget that tonight is Ephrata's annual fireworks display. If you're heading out to enjoy the festivities:
