| His passion for the fire service was inspired by his desire to give back to the community, as well as by his grandfather, who served as a lieutenant for the City of Lancaster. Andrew says what he enjoys most about the Ephrata Fire Company is that everyone feels like one big family. Outside of the firehouse, he works on the road crew for East Cocalico Township and enjoys spending time at the cabin, making memories with family and friends, and being with his two dogs. His advice to anyone considering becoming a firefighter is simple: if it’s something you’ve been thinking about, whether as a volunteer or a career, just go for it. He says it’s one of the best things in the world, but emphasizes the importance of being committed, as becoming a firefighter requires many hours of training and dedication. |
