Pioneer Fire Company responded with Engine 15-1, Tower 15, UTV-15, and Traffic 15. Mutual aid from Lincoln Fire Company Station 16 also responded to assist. Crews were searching for a juvenile with special needs who had left the property. As the search began, our Fire Police secured and shut down a two-block section of Akron Rd to prevent any pedestrian accidents, as there were numerous people walking in the area.

Ephrata Police Department deployed their specialized drone equipped with thermal imaging technology, while coordinated ground teams from Pioneer and Lincoln conducted an extensive search of the area.

Thankfully, crews from Lincoln Fire Company located the juvenile unharmed. Out of an abundance of caution, the parents agreed to have their son evaluated by EMS ( Ephrata Community Ambulance Association ). The family was then transported back to their residence by UTV.

All units returned to service.

A huge thank you to our brothers and sisters at Lincoln Fire Company and Ephrata Police Department for their teamwork and professionalism that helped bring this incident to a safe and successful conclusion.
