EPFC assisted in providing a unique training opportunity for the K9's and handlers of Middle Creek Search and Rescue, Station 1-14. The K9 handlers had made a request to orient their dogs with firefighters in full PPE and with fire equipment they may run into while on a search. Chief Pettyjohn, Lt Kintzler and FF Brooks assisted with the request which included Truck 1-5 and raising the dogs in the basket. A good time was had by all with a new and different training involving the companies.

It is with heavy hearts that the EPFC passes along the following news.
Today while operating at the scene of a crash Fire Police Officer Ed Steffy suffered a cardiac event that he never recovered from. Mr Steffy was a Life Member of Rothsville Fire Company and served as a fire fighter and President of the Ambulance for many years before retirement. Since then he served as a Fire Police Officer for the department.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the membership of Station 2-10 and the Steffy family.
