Mandatory training for members using SCBA

Tuesday, June 29, 2010 7PM If you have been fitted for a personal facepiece for our new SCBA’s (BA), please pay attention to these dates of importance about our new Scott NXG7 Air packs as well as a timetable for placing the units in service.

6/18: Tentative Receipt Date for the Units from the Factory.

6/29: Factory Demo by Scott Reps. Additional Training will be Available if you are unable to attend this Tues. HOWEVER, we would like to have as many people as possible attend this night. If you are planning on wearing a BA and do not have urgent prior commitments, please plan to attend this evening.  If you are not able to attend, we will make arrangements for you.

7/6: In House Training: Again, we plan on covering departmental SOG's this evening and it is imperative that all individuals wearing BA attend. Again, please RSVP to this E-mail. If you are unable to attend, arrangements will be made.

Facepieces will be distributed this evening AND at the conclusion of this training, the new BA's will be placed on the rigs, and will be in service.

7/27: Combined Training: This training will focus on Station 1-6 and the RIT/PAK Tracker capabilities of our new BA's. Again, we need everyone to attend, as we must all be familiar with these features.

The Chief's Office is going to be working with the Engineer's Office regarding bracket replacements for the new high pressure cylinders.

Again, it is imperative that we all attend these trainings, as facepieces will not be issued to individuals until after completing the necessary training. As always, thank you for your commitment to the department and training!

If there are any questions on the new BA’s and receiving training in their use please direct them to Captain Mike Kiefer
